[Tips] The Fire-Taoist's Guide to PKing Trojans
Author: 05-11-2008 Views:

Now people often say that Taoists are weak class. Well. They aren't. Every class has it's own strengths and weaknesses.

Because of the nature of this guide I will only go into details about Fire-Taos and Trojans.

*************************************************************************

Trojans- Probably the most popular class at the moment. They are VERY strong in the attack area and have much higher HP than any other class, plus reasonable defense. If they can land a sneak attack on an unsuspecting taoist, BANG, dead Tao.

However, because in the main mobs messengers aren't common, the weakness is commonly overlooked- Trojan magic defense sucks.

People say Trojans are stronger than Taoists but they're basically equal.

Tao in labyrinth = DEAD.

Trojan in Wine Zone = Deader because they can't attack while avoiding attack unlike Taos.

Fire-Taos- Very damaging class and second in attack power only to the Trojans. Can attack from long range and attack the entire surrounding area with area effecting spells, have basic healing magic and various methods of attacking, each with it's own pros and cons.

However, Tao defense SUCKS even worse than Trojan magic defense so basically, you get one chance or you're dead. This means classes that attack melee and have low magic defense (Trojans and Warriors) are your PK targets because A. You attacks do a lot to them and B. They shouldn't be able to hit you.

However, archers are meant to counter Taoists because they A. Attack the Tao's weak defenses instead of magic defense and B. Have very high magic defense themselves and C. attack at range so the Tao's method of jumping away from attacks is rendered useless.

OK. So you're a 100+ Fire tao with super Robes and Super Backsword. You aren't? Well then shoo, you aren't going to get anywhere here.

Sorry about that, decent people. Anyways...

Yeah.

So here's what you're gonna do: Char-Grill a Trojan.

**************************************************************************

What do you do first?

Observe his gears of course. Now. Here's what to look for.

1. If he has earrings, what do you do? Well, unless you're extremely stupid and/or brave, you walk away. Earrings squash a Tao's magic attacks there and then. He'll kill you or heal himself before you manage to take away half of his health.

2. His reborn status. Basically, his if he is already 2nd reborn, unless you are also SECOND reborn, you leave it. If is first reborn and you are also, or you aren't reborn at all, you can attack anyway and should do fine. Just if he pulls out a gold-guard and stacks himself under it, leave now because you aren't gonna get anywhere.

3. His level. basically, you should be 100+ (You say you aren't? Didn't I tell you to Leave? - ..-) and he should be anywhere between 100 and 130. So long as he is wearing a coronet and not earrings, you should be OK. Just avoid his attacks and spam him with Tornado.

(Tornado, by the way, should be level 1 by level 100, level 2 before level 110, and fixed between 115-120.)

4. His Equipment. Well. If he has a blade or sword, you have to be careful because he is gonna try and cut you down from a distance with scent sword or fastblade, which means you won't be able to stand still for a second without him slicing you to bits. Keep dancing to his stamina runs out and then mash his face in with some Tornados.

If he has dual clubs, it'll mean his attacks are slow and your character will likely dodge a few hit-chances he gets and throws at you, but if he gets you you'll probably die. Just avoid that bloody Hercules.

Any other weapons will mean he has low attack power but he'll hit you fast and accurately, such as whips or daggers. While he may hit you,. the damage will be small and you'll be able to heal between hits so that's THAT problem solved.

************************************************************************

Aaah. My favorite part. There are 3 basic situations you'll likely end up in as a fight with a Trojan.

1. He sneak attacks you while you're leveling/hunting/sitting/standing/whatever...

2. You sneak attack HIM while he's unawares...

3. You meet in a mutual fight situations, such as a guild war, PK match or jail, etc...

I'll explain them all individually.

Then give a summary as to the difficulty and fun of the fights!

(***** = 5 stars means VERY fun or VERY difficult. *= 1 star meaning BORING or EASY or NO FUN)

1. I'm sat minding my own business when a nasty Trojan clubbed me from behind! What do I do?

There's no time for scanning here. The chances are, unless you've been killed before you got a chance to react, you're on very low health. Heal yourself with the cure spell WHILE you jump around avoiding more of his attacks. As you do this, take a look, DON'T OBSEVE, but use your basic knowledge of Trojan equipment to determine his level. What armour is he wearing: Dragon? Conquest? Also, are his weapons (what weapons are they) Glowing or are they just red? If they're blue, cut to the chace and batter his ass there and then -..-

After healing, if he is within your abilities to PK him, flurry him with tornados and nothing else while healing any damage you take. If

A. your attacks do under 400 damage or

B. His friends join in

You RUN LIKE HELL.

However, if the ground is even and you do more than 400, fight to the death.

Keep moving and healing and blasting him with tornado and eventually he'll die. Unless he has 50 billion pots, then you might have to hold on a while.

Spells used: Tornado, Cure.

Difficulty: *****

Fun: *** :O

2. I was walking through Bird Island and there was this Trojan harassing my Water-Taoist friend, so I thought I'd catch the fool off-guard...

OK. You're snake attacking.

This gives you a chance to observe him and then plan carefully. IF you think his level is too high or his equips are too good, you walk. Otherwise, CHARGE!

FireBall is a VERY powerful spell (not as strong as FireMeteor but it's easier to level and more accurate).

Since he doesn't suspect, switch PK on and charge up fireball. as soon as that fireball leaves your hand, you jump and then blast him with Tornado till he dies. Because of the initial damage from fireball his feeble brain may not be able to think of using potions so you have a headstart. Just keep hitting him with tornado (or FireMet if you've leveled it). If his fastblade or scent sword catches you, heal with cure and carry on attacking. What you must remember is that you don't stand still even for a second. Or you're dead.

Spells used: Fireball (optional), Tornado/FireMet, Cure (possibly).

Difficulty:***

Fun: ***** :D

3. Oh dear this guild war is VERY exhilarating- OH MY GOD A TRO IS APROACHING ME AT HIGH SPEEDS! Muahahaha here's my chance! READY TO FIGHT!

If you have a chance, observe his gears and plan according inly. If not, just start and fight!

Ever faithful Tornado or the slightly convoluted FireMet both work here. If you can cram a FireBall in here, do it, every little helps. The chances are there will be other players who'll get in the way here, so make it quick. And if any archers join in, you'll have to run.

Because they will be crossfire here, cure is essential so have it on hand.

Just keep going and be careful, coz after the fight, there'll be another 20 to kill. And they'll jump you if you give them half a chance. So be very careful.

*******************************************************************************

So there it is. Taos take a lot of work and are, a lot of the time, the underdog. But with some skill, a bit of help and ALOT of perseverance, Taos are a VERY strong class, Keep working on it, and stay strong. And cool. Sometimes you have to think. RAIN THOSE TROJANS WITH A BLIZZARD OF LIGHTNING! XD HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

Thanks, Buh-Bye!

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my guide. It's 01:00am so I can't write anymore, but post questions on comments and i'll make a part 2 of this :D

See ya!
